Lake St Clair Charity Bike Ride
A cycle event has been in the pipeline at Lake St Clair for many years, and with the combined efforts of Rotary Club of Singleton, with support from Soft Cogs Inc. and Mt Owen, Glencore the Lake St Clair Charity Bike Ride was born in 2016. Each year it grows in numbers and popularity which we hope to grow over the years to come.
The Soft Cogs Incorporated is a team of riders who share their love of riding bikes (road, mountain, triathlon, recumbent, tandem…you name it!). We predominantly come from the Hunter Valley however have riders who live in Sydney, Queensland and beyond. Our objectives are to spread the word of riding and healthy lifestyles to our networks and to promote a safe, fun, responsible and sustainable riding atmosphere while raising funds for worthwhile causes. The Soft Cogs don’t have a serious, racing focus. Rather, a focus on the social and enjoyable aspects to riding. So it’s great for new riders to start riding with the Soft Cogs to gain these fundamental skills and build confidence. Find us on Facebook and the web www.softcogsinc.com. Santa's Grotto: Christmas in John Street
Get ready to celebrate all the magic of the festive season when Christmas on John Street returns to the heart of Singleton on Friday 8 December 2023.
The much-loved annual Christmas on John Street event brings more than 7,000 people into Singleton’s town centre to enjoy a huge range of activities including street performers, market stalls, children’s entertainment, and a visit by the jolly man in red himself – Santa. Singleton firefighters will chauffer Santa to the event in their 1960s Bedford vintage truck. Families will once again be able to get free professional photos with St Nick at Santa’s North Pole grotto thanks to the Rotary Club of Singleton. Annual Community ChallengeThe Rotary Club of Singleton would like to thank the Singleton community for their ongoing support for the Annual Singleton Community Challenge.
In 2021 we raised funds to enable mental health education programs for Singleton’s young people. In 2022, we were able to install outdoor chairs and tables outside the Palliative Care rooms at the Singleton Hospital. In 2023, with the increasing cost of living within our community, the Rotary Club of Singleton would like to ‘pause’ the Annual Singleton Challenge. In 2024, we will recommence and raise funds for further worthwhile community projects. Thank you for your continued support |
